Halloween vs. Christmas Spending

After doing some research, I found out that Americans are estimated to spend around $5.8 billion on costumes, candy, and decorations this year. Poles were taken and from the 9,000 people that took the survey, the average American will each spend around $60 on Halloween. This is almost an 18% increase from last years sales!

After doing more research, I found that Christmas spending was way more the Halloween spending by an insane amount. This year alone, Americans are estimated to spend a grand total of around $154 billion on gifts! According to the poles, the average that each American will spend on Christmas gifts this year is around $800! This is an 8% increase from last year.

  1. Who are these people that are spending out the gazzoo? Our family has been cutting back for years now. Of course we have No credit card debit, Own our home, No car payments, No student loans, in fact No loans of any kind, carry health Insurance, mow our own lawn and the list goes on. I guess what I am pointing out is any Moron can spend that much or more but do they have the $ to pay for it when the credit card bill arrives in January? I am 50 yrs old & have raised 2 young adults 20 & 23 to be responsible for their lives & financial futures. You don't spend what you can't pay for at the end of the day, week or month. But Most of America doesn't manage their $ that way government, big business and countless American citizens.....Oh that's okay I can declare bankruptcy , the government will bail me out. Sad,sad state of affairs.
